Vernissage in Prague

Finally, everything was ready for the opening! On the eve of the 29th the vernisage was on. It was a cozy gathering, a number of Bohemian art enthuastics showing up, sipping red wine and being interested in what was going on.

Here people gather around the bar, as well as walking through the exhibition.

Here Marcela Steinbachova in the foreground talks to a colleague of hers while others speculate on the works of Jiří Thyn and Anna Guðjónsdóttir.

In the background we see Anna speaking with an interested artist while Lloyd Dunn chats to another one in front of Rupprecht Matthies's paintings and Kristín Reynisdóttir's flower photographs.

Jan Bartoš (on the right) discussing matters with two good friends in front of Hlynur Helgason's matrix-drawing and photographs of suburbian Prague hut entrys.

Jiří in an enlightened discussion with an interested spectator, his camera on his shoulder as always.

Here Dana Recmanova, Eygló Harðardóttir and Kristín Reynisdóttir have a nice chat over red wine with Kristín's lotus drawing in the background and her magma hanging in the air around a czech crystal lotus.

Eygló's work, depicting her impressions about the czech brown bear with half finished maps of Prague on display beneath it and a couple of Kristín's flowers.

Here we have the configuration of Anna's rubbings, maps, and photographs alongside Jan's photographs of homeless peoples' shelters mounted on to a scetchy map of Prague.

Jiři, still in active discussion with the audience, in front of his photographs of the alien in Prague, first an architectural monstrosity, an hotel in the form of an inverted pyramid, then a strande spherical protrusion out of a quiet sidewalk in Prague and in the end photographic representations of his mirror construction bringing the sky to street level in the busy part of Prague.

The vernissage was lively at times and a lot of animated discussion going on in every corner.

At the end night was falling over Prague, people standing outside the inviting lights of the Školská28 space still in vivid discussion.
